100 Watt STIRLING ENGINE ALPHA STIRLING idea High Torque DIY OFF THE SHELF STEAM ENGINE MOTOR

This 100 watt + Stirling Engine is the only Stirling I have ever tested that would take a finger off without a thought. IT IS NOT A TOY! This engine sounds like a gas weed eater. It destroys the false myth that STIRLING ENGINES have very little torque. THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL engine.

  1. i bet it will do 300w if you have water cooling for it

  2. I like :o)

  3. Running at that speed its going to need some lubrication!!!!!!

  4. What’s the required temp-difference to get this thing to turn? (minimum? peak?)

Where did you get this puppy? (more to the point…where can I get one????)
    :-)

  5. amazing!

  6. Dan , personally , i have like two moths whatching your videos , they are amezing!!
later on i will try to call you , i would like to buy several items from you.
as a mechanical engineer ,i really certify you as an inventor developer
if we as a planet may have more persons like you , this world would
be other Good Bless you Mrs Rojas!!

  7. Hello, i’m French and i like your video but i don’t anderstend all what you say, if you can traduce…. Tank you Dan

  8. The Stirling design and this build was done people that believed in keeping things simple - totally awesome.

  9. So where does one find a engine like that?

  10. pinballrobbie

Surlely it still does not have much torque just high revs and a flywheel?

Very nice sterling Dan. But keep in mind that 60 watts of almost maintenance free, silent solar power is less than $300 at amazon. However, I think solar concentrated Sterling engine power is the future and likely could be produced in a cost effective way to reach the masses. Great work Dan.

  12. Are you going to be selling or giving out plans for this engine? Seems quite powerful and potentially quite helpful.

  13. I wonder if, by use of another fresnel lens and a mirror, if you could focus another beam on the back side and double the output power.

  14. did you make it out of scrap?

  15. Great, now did you buy this or build this engine. If you bought it where and
    how much?

  16. haha it’s powerful enopugh to be dangerous! XD

make it 4 times as big and connect 4 of them and you have some useful little powerstation

    or 100 bigger …

  17. Are you going to couple it to a generator and hook up a watt meter? That would be interesting. Great vids mate.

    BEAUTIFUL!!!

  19. One man’s noise is another man’s music. Where do I get one of these? It’s music.

  20. ShiftingGlobe

Do a segment on the history of these engines and let us know where to get one! P.S. Have you tried the focal point on that big parabolic?

  21. Could you power a generator with this and light a strong light with it?
